"My biggest accomplishment is made up of many things. My children, of course, and hard work would be the biggest accomplishments. "I'm most thankful for my parents. My mom and dad still don't speak much English, but they are very successful. Watching my dad build our family home, which they still live in today, is inspiring. They made the best out of the resources they had and I'd like to think that I did too. I'm very happy about the life they built for me and my brother as well as proud of what I built."

"This vacation we took was fairly recent but very memorable. We went to this resort in Cancun, Mexico with my husband's sisters. I'm not used to having a sister, since I only have a brother, let alone four. I grew to admire them and their hard work, as they came from a similar background as my family did. I was very happy seeing my children grow closer with their cousins and their aunts. This vacation is very special to me because, after this vacation, we decided to make it a tradition to go somewhere with them every year."

"I moved here from China to Quincy, Massachusetts. It's a small town just outside of Boston. It was my home for a while, and my daughter, Phoebe, too since she was born there. I went to North Quincy High School, graduated there, and attended college at UMass Boston. School was tough for me. It was completely different—the culture, people, classwork. Making friends was difficult, as cultural differences and language barriers often left me feeling out of place. But, the struggle and hardship are part of my journey."

"If I could give a younger person advice. Hmm... I would say to never give up, even though it is cheesy. Keep pushing through whatever life throws at you. Also, listen to your parents. It might seem at times that they don't really know you, but they do and they do care. Nothing is worse than not having family to be there for you."

"A piece of advice/wisdom I live by is to make sure you are independent. Although it is important to have important people by your side, I would say it's more important to be confident in yourself. I work really hard, helping my husband out with his business. I tried my best in high school, despite North Quincy High not being the best school around. During high school and college, I was often alone to figure things out like how to get to school and help with school work, since I had not spoken English that well back then. I learned independence and that I can get through hard times by myself. It's very important to work for the things you have, also more rewarding that way."

"A place I've been dreaming to visit includes a place and a person. I have been dreaming about visiting Europe with my mom. Growing up, we didn't have a lot of money, so my childhood or my teenage years didn't have vacations. But, time has passed and times aren't as rough. My mom and I want to tour all of Europe's famous spots, Italy, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, all of it. I want to go shopping at Champs-Élysées in Paris and the Colosseum in Rome with my mom. I've always wanted to take just my mom and me somewhere special. A child's dream is always going to involve spoiling your parents. I just have to find the time to be able to do that."

We visit my mom, brother, and nieces in Quincy during Christmas break every year. We visit the city, Boston, at least a few times during our time there.
