I am very much a visual and kinesthetic learner, so to me I needed to see something in images or diagrams or see/do something more physical. My Spanish class in high school was great for both those reasons, which is actually one of the reasons I wanted to become a Spanish teacher in the first place. In that class, it was so small (small school and not a huge interest in upper level Spanish) that the teacher could actually use different methods for each lesson. The best activities for me always related to hands-on games, acting out vocab and verbs, drawing or designing something related to the unit, and creating something new and exciting that relates to the materials. 

However, I was horrible at what "average" students should do. I had a bad memory and test anxiety, so the normal tests were never pleasant or positive for me. I also struggled with just listening to lectures- even when I got into college and I had to take gen-ed classes with massive amounts of students and long lectures, I struggled to listen, take notes, and learn all at once. To me, that was the hardest thing.
