Four organs of the Excretory system are lungs, kidneys, liver, and the skin
Lungs: Release carbon dioxide and water from the process of respiration.
Liver: The liver stores sugar until it is needed in the blood. Amino acids release nitrogen when they are changed into sugars. Nitrogen is changed by the liver into urea. Urea is a major substance in urine which is released from the body through the urethra.
Skin: The skin releases urea, water and salt from the body through perspiration. Perspiration also helps to cool the body.
Kidneys: The main organ of the excretory system. They filter wastes and poisons out of the blood. Your entire blood supply passes through the kidneys about once every 30 minutes. The waste removed here is called urine which is made up of water, urea, and salts. Nephrons are small filtering units in the kidney

The urinary system's function is to filter blood and create urine as a waste by-product. The organs of the urinary system include the kidneys, renal pelvis, ureters, bladder and urethra. The body takes nutrients from food and converts them to energy.

The kidneys act as very efficient filters for ridding the body of waste and toxic substances, and returning vitamins, amino acids, glucose, hormones and other vital substances into the bloodstream. The kidneys receive a high blood flow and this is filtered by very specialised blood vessels.

These narrow tubes carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder.

The excretory system consists of organs which remove metabolic wastes and toxins from the body.

The primary excretory organs in the human body are the kidneys, ureters and urinary bladder, involved with the creation and expulsion of urine. Through these organs, much of the nitrogenous waste of the body, especially urea, is expelled. Other organs such as the liver, large intestine and skin are also necessary for the excretion of specific metabolic wastes.

The excretory system functions as the bulwark and balance to the digestive system. While we consume food and drink to nourish the body and provide energy, the excretory system ensures that homeostasis is maintained, irrespective of changes to the nutritive value of food.

It regulates the fluid balance of the body, maintaining adequate salt and water levels.
