There were many types of seafood, typical of Galicia such as mussels, spider crabs, clams, crayfish, razors... 
The fishmongers told us that at Chrismas they are more expensive than in other seasons of the year and also from September to Ferbruary we can find all the seafood at their best.

They are typical autumn vegetables. Cauliflower is a traditional one to eat on Christmas Eve, boiled with cod fish and a special galician sauce made with olive oil, paprika and garlic. The price is affordable in these dates.

We put them in the oven with salt or we boiled them. In the south of Portugal, they are boiled with fennel.
Galicia and the North of Portugal have a historical and linguistic past in common, so it is natural that there are some foods that both, Galicians and Portuguese eat. In the North of Portugal, closed to Galicia, the chestnut was also used before the potato arrived from South America.
