I picked this article, because I think it had relevant resources that were related to kindergarten. These tasks meet the kindergarten math standards while still allowing students to be involved in the learning process. The tasks allow teachers to evaluate and understand their students thought process in each of the math standards.

This article was very easy to navigate and was separated into each standard that we should be meeting. There are specific examples of some performance task assessments. The tasks allowed students to be more involved in the learning, rather than just rote memorization.

This article was highlighting how to use performance based assessments in a reading group. She talked about how to help your students by having some prompts they could choose from to engage their thinking/learning to present. I really liked that it didn't require much from the teacher but the small amount made a big difference in the end product.

This article seemed very relevant as it goes back to the conversation we had at the beginning of this Academy in regards to the law of averages and how that backfires when it comes to learning. I liked how the article was written from a parent's perspective in their experience with a conversation they had with their daughter. This gave an interesting perspective on the impact that standardized testing can have on learners.

This article shed some light on the purpose of the teacher is to be a facilitator rather than the person who has and shares all of the knowledge. This allows students to do the learning through performance based tasks and teachers to guide them through the process instead of the students regurgitating and repeating skills that teachers have shown and demonstrated to them and for them.
