To me this course discussed issues that will come up in the classroom. It also made me think about how to handle situations within a classroom when it comes to behaviors of children. I overall enjoyed the class, even though I don’t necessarily agree with everything that was said. Thank you for teaching us.

I think this course was meant to introduce us to topics that were meant to be a bit uncomfortable or controversial for us. I believe this course helped me to be "woke" and become aware of some of the issues that are facing our world. I believe this course is supposed to help teach me, as a future teacher, how to react when issues such as the ones we have discussed in class come up in the classroom. I think this class has helped open my eyes a bit to what is going on in the world and has forced to me to become aware of the issues and situations in our world. Although I did not agree with everything we discussed in this course, I do believe in the importance of this class and how it will make us both better citizens and better teachers someday, as it has taught me how to communicate nonviolently with others and talk about issues or disagreements we may have with others.

This course has taught me some good things but also I feel that we spent way too much time on certain topics. Topics such as race and gender identity. Overall, I am still kind of confused at what the point of the course was, but what I got from it was to give empathy to those who need it and to work through feelings that need to be worked through. As a future teacher, I find it useful to know how to prepare the situation of a child blowing up and hurting your feelings, and being able to control the situation. I still still get very confused when it comes to assignments due to the lack of direction, I am very structured person and having no structure gave me real bad anxiety about whatever topic it may be.

The point of this course for me, was to be more open minded and empathetic towards others and their feelings. We are going to be educators and educators can’t be close minded because they will be faced with so many different views and people within the school system. I found this class the most helpful out of all classes we have had this semester.

To me, this corse was important in learning how to deal with certain situations we might face as teachers. For example, if we have a transgender student, gay or lesbian parents. How to approach and be aware of certain privileges and oppressions we see in our students and what to do about them. This class really helped me with how to deal with the emotional conflicts we might face in our future careers.

I found it helpful because these types of conflict may be seen in our own classroom in the future. We as educators need to be prepared for uncomfortable
topics and questions to be raised in our future classrooms. The more prepared we are, the better educators we will be.

I think this course made us open up to some of the issues we might have to face not only in the future but in our own classrooms. I believe the class helped to remind that we need to be open minded and not always take misbehavior or lack of attention at face value because there can be other factors going on in the background we do not know about.
