1. In "Tell all the truth but tell it slant," what reasons the the speaker give for telling the truth "slant"?

To tell the truth slant doesn't necessarily mean to lie, it means to tell the truth, but not phrase it perfectly or tell all of it. "Too bright for our infirm Delight". Another reason is that the truth is too hard to handle, so telling the truth slant would prevent some damage. "Or every man be blind " .

7. In "Tell the Truth but tell it slant," lines 5 and 6 provide an example to illustrate the poet's point about truth. Dickinson, who often compresses meaning, omits several words in these lines.v How would you rephrase the lines to make a full sentence?

Dickinson omits a few words in lines 5 and 6 to make the poem shorter and mare compact. If I were to rephrase those lines in a complete sentence I would write: The bright lightning of the truth is dimmed for children to alter the truth to make it more appropriate

6. What is the theme (the central idea) of this poem? Can you state it in a single sentence? Elaborate on your idea.

The theme of this poem is that you don't have to always tell the whole truth. Sometimes, the truth is bad and you should tell it slant. In a single sentence, the theme is: The truth is sometimes better told slant then fully told.

5. Are there any symbols? What do they mean? Are they universal symbols or do they arise from the context of this poem?

A symbol shown in the poem is, "Or every man be blind". It means to tell the person the altered truth or not let them know at all. "Success in Circuit lies". The "circuit" in this line means that the truth should be told, but changed a bit. It could also mean that the truth has a positive and a negative side to it, like how electricity works.
