         <description><![CDATA[<div>Task 1: cutting edge </div><div>1.    When and where did the film industry develop?<br> the history of films began in 1890s, this was when motion picture cameras were invented and film production companies started to be established. <br> 2. What was the original technology like?<br> This in n explain of technology Up right movie olla  <br> 3. Who is Edwin S Porter and why is he important?<br> Edwin Porter discovered cutting separate shots together to create short films. As Edwin Porter discovered cutting this had a massive impact on the film industry as it helped films have more emotion. Also makes it more entertaining to the audience. This also boosted the film industry.  <br> 4. What is an editor and what skills do they need?<br> A film editor is someone who edits films. The skill’s you would need to have are: knowledge of the film industry and movie production, also knowledge of editing equipment and a willingness to keep up with the changes in that technology. Also ability to work alone on detailed and sometimes tedious work, also problem solving skills.  <br> 5. a) Name a famous editor in the film,: Carol Littleton.  <br> b) do some research to find out which films they have edited<br> - She edited the filmThe accidental tourist in 1988<br> 6. What role did women play in the history of editing, what does that tell us about representation/equality and diversity? </div><div> The role of a women in the film industry was to create a movie that had a softer women’s touch to it  rather than a horror which would have been typically been edited by a man. Nowadays women have an equal chance to create more gruesome.<br> 7. What makes a good edit, how do we know if it has been successful? (clue 12 mins in)<br> a successful edit is one that is seamless. <br> 8. Name one tip or trick that you will begin to use in your edits.</div><div>I’m going to use cutting in my features edits to make them more appealing to the audience. <br> <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Pre-digital Linear</div><div>original film - cutting reels of negatives.</div><div>16mm- low budget, cheaper, easy to edit with.</div><div>35mm - expensive, harder to use, taping film, splicing, high resolution.</div><div>Negatives - lighter areas appear dark and vice versa, usually on film, happens because of the light sensitive chemicals (silver crystals), reversed to respective complementary colours.</div><div><br></div><div>TV/video editing Videotape Editing</div><div>Video tape editing - Multiple VCR’s in one setup to record copies, VCR was paused and fast forwarded to points what wanted to be recorded, audio was recorded the same way, was copied from one Cassette tape to others via Multiple VCRs linked via data cables.</div><div>Multi-camera editing - multiple cameras record from different angles, edited together like other editing just with multiple sets of footage, typically more difficult without extra planning.</div><div><br></div><div>Non-Linear Editing</div><div>Digital Editing Software + computer editing - Can start editing anywhere, more accurate, less likely to damage the recording, examples are windows movie maker or adobe premiere pro.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>target audience: teenager&nbsp;<br>secondary audience: adults.<br>colour codes: they used dark colours to show danger and gloomy places and gave the audience an idea what it will be like.&nbsp;<br>costumes: show personality and that the are in prison(the bad guys) the other costumes are people that work for the law.<br>Makeup shows personality.&nbsp;<br>settings: prison, restaurant and the streets.</div>]]></description>
