Since the Nikon is obsolete, I purchased the Oppo A73 smartphone as the camera was supposed to be quite good according to recent reviews. However, it now seems that the Nikon is still better for video as the Oppo only has 16mp with 1080 resolution and a f/2.2 aperture. As the video has car scenes, the Oppo can be fixed to the car. Additionally, should the Nikon mic not pick up, it may be possible to have the Oppo recording in scenes to capture the audio so that it plays in sync with the video recording of the camera.

I do have a tripod. It is quite flimsy and stands approx. 4ft. Most of the time, I end up holding the camera rather than bother with it.
