The year after in 1342 another permanent peace was signed but was broken up because Edward didn't want peace and the war resumed in 1345.

Edward went North but Phillip's larger army caught up to Edwards and they fought in the battle of Crecy. In the battle of Crecy, the longbow was used, and Edwards had a free hand in northern France.
