the first being the lady mcadden live brief. which we were given a brief to create a 

garment to wear while raising money for the charity, this garment could only be made

using the lady mcadden t shirt. i think this was a great and fun opportunity for me to

be given a client like brief, as in the industry. i also work part time within a double glazing.

as un glamorous as this sounds its a great opportunity to get the selling and admin skills

that are going to aid me in my future business (as i aspire to have my own label). other

than this i am due to have work experience in the summer. The first at TOPMAN HQ for a

week which will be divided into two sections. Half of the week will be spent in the design

department where i can learn some valuable skills about the designing process within

industry. For the other section of the week i will spend this in the buying section of topman

so i get a feel of the other work that goes into the industry as well as consider this as

another pathway i could take within the near but distant future. The other work experience

that i will undertake will be in M&S HQ where i will spend the week within the design section

as well as the fabric experimentation department. I really aspire to get a place within central

saint martins, to aid me in my future ideas i attending the fashion design short course which

will also follow in the summer. I believe this will be a great opportunity for me to get a feel of

the university as well as grow a broader subject knowledge within fashion design and learn

acquire some new skills which i will then be able to develop in year two

I am a fashion loving, energetic and hardworking student.

I am currently studying for a level 3 Diploma in art and fashion design. I have

experience in pattern cutting and designing and making my own clothes and 

I am keen to develop my subject knowledge in a real life retail environment.  

I have a keen eye for detail and am studious and enthusiastic. I also enjoy

I am currently studying a 2 year Level 3 extended diploma in 

art and design (fashion design) at South Essex College. Following the completion 

Greensward Academy (Hockley Essex) – 2009-2014: 8 GCSE’s obtained (Including English language- A, English Literature- B & Maths- C).

Work Experience

Assistant: Seemore Glass (Hockley Essex) – To present

In addition to assisting on the sales floor I also provide support on the administrative side. I have also been given the opportunity to be involved in designing patterns for the leaded lights in windows.

Waitress: Cobblers Restaurant (Hockley Essex) – June 2014

This summer role allowed me to be involved in all aspects of the restaurant, from waiting tables to calculating bills. My role was primarily customer facing where a polite and amiable manner was important. 

W K Webster & Co Ltd – 2013 (Sidcup, Kent)

As part of my school curriculum I undertook a 2 week work experience at this leading Marine-Casualty consultancy. The tasks that I carried out were mainly administrative and included answering telephones, file management, selecting and inputting data into bespoke databases and preparing spreadsheets / word documents.
