The European Youth Work Agenda

From my perspective its trying to understand based on the question below – how the European Youth Work Agenda influences national/regional youth work policy development.

1. policy, strategy and youth workers training and education on all levels

In the context of the Youth Affairs National Workforce Survey which is exploring the employment context for youth services and areas for development.

There is a challenge in the numbers engaging in youth work degree programmes so if there is an opportunity to leverage European funding to support access to professional development opportunities for Youth Work.

Is there a place for ETBs to lead local youth work policy development - in the context of the wider eco-system that supports youth work organisations e.g. Youth Work Policy that states an intention regarding the strategic development of youth work in a region as a collaborative approach.

Why a local youth work policy would be helpful?

Local Authorities are the lead local agency for a pilot initiative - Making Places for and with Teenagers - A Dormant Accounts Funded Initiative – A policy framework by local statutory agencies regarding youth work is important so that there is strategic partnerships built to support the development of responses to young people in a coherent joined up approach
