Today is my first day in Lotus Desaru. I register at office at 9 am. The human resource staff take me to my room where I suppose to stay. At 10 I already start working. The head staff in house keeping department take me to meet my supervisor, Sister Mala, and she take me to meet Imam my partner for today. I'm working with 2 person. Imam and Faizah who also a internship student from UMK. Imam is a import worker from Indonesia. Today I learn about how to clean the toilet, remove garbage and mopping. My supervisor say that I can do things very well even at the first day. I was like "what I only cleaning the toilet for god sake!" But whatever. Even though I have no idea how to relate this thing with what I learned in UMK but at least I've learned something. I hope I can learn more after this.

I start my work at 7.50 am at Block L with my partners Dullani and Faizah. Everything is the same as yesterday, cleaning toilet, remove garbage and mopping. The same routine until lunch time. They change my partner. I work with Samugam. He from India and he cannot speak Malay or English well. The only words that he knows are 'finish, atas, level, house keeping, towel and numbers.' So, there is a communication problem at first. But I can manage that. Even though he is the most disaster house keeping staff here because his block always get a bad comments from guests. But I manage everything well. So, I check everything so that he didn't miss anything like towel or something.

Today started my work as usual at 7.45 am. Today was a very tiring day because Samugam absent so I have to cover the whole K block with Suresh. We started with level 4 and all guest at level 4 are a long stay guests so it's not a big deal everything goes well. On the level 3 I started annoying with Suresh because he talks a lot. He also video calling with his family in Indonesia the whole time. I was like "Hello, you can video calling after working!!" A very bad attitude at work place and is my challenge for today. Then we continue at level 2 and level 1. At level 1, I faced another challenge which is the customer is in the room. She started complaining about everything no shower cap, no mini shampoo( for a long stay we do not provide a mini shampoo it's the policy), the balcony too dusty( there are a construction outside the building and she's at the first level and of course it will be dusty and we cannot stop the construction for her). After finished level 1, we proceed with level 5. Level 5 need to be the last because it has penthouses.

Today I'm working with Samugam again. As usual we cover Block K level 1, 2 and 3. Today si Friday so most of the guests are not working so they'll be in the room. So an awkward situation will happen. I don't like if the guest in the room while I'm cleaning. I feel uncomfortable because they are watching and they keep asking questions. But however some guests don't want to be disturb. So we leave that room and come again later or tomorrow.

Today most of the long stay guests are going home so they beds are not used. So I just need to mop the floor only. As usual my partner is Samugam. We work so fast today and nothing went wrong. However I forgot that the key card for level 1 still with me. And I went to my room with the key. So I have walk back to the block K to pass the to Samugam. I'm so careless. 7-10 pm I have over time job in f & b department. Petronas staff are doing gathering party. We serve alcohol so most of them are drunk.

As usual I'm working with Samugam we cover level 1, 2 & 3 for block K. Most of the guests put a do not disturb sign because they all tired after gathering party yesterday. Some of them ask to come after lunch time. The problem that we faced today is the hidden towel. The guest hid the towel in their locker so we have to put more. We are running out of towels and that is why we have to check the locker so there is no towel hidden.

My activities:

Today I'm working with Suresh and Niza. We need to cover the whole block since Samugam off day. We start at level 4 the level 3 to level 2. Then we went up to level 5. I have to go early because we have orientation programs for trainee and a new staff. At the orientation room we've been exposed to everything about the resort. Get to know other staff. They also introduce the founder of Lotus.

Today my partner is Faizah because Dullani on a off day. Some argument happened between my supervisor and Samugam because I'm suppose to work with him and now his on his own. Faizah still new and she need a partner. Faizah and I cover block L level 1, 2 & 3. We work so fast and we finished everything before 4 pm. My supervisor, Kak Mala very nice she bought us breakfast. I went home early because I'm not feeling well.

My activities for today not much. I only got a chance to clean up a few rooms before I throw out vomit and my supervisor ask me to rest in my room.

At 5 pm, I have meeting with HR manager. She's talking about the rule of the hostel and the limits of being a trainee in the Lotus Desaru Resort.

My activities:

Because I can't work at house keeping for awhile my manager put me in laundry department for a few days at least until I'm feeling better. My work there only folded clothes. The laundry are divided by room. Before start folding the clothes I have to read the bill form first. In the form the guest will describe the way they want their clothes to be taking care of. If they jist want folded so I fold. But if they want iron or hang I will separate the clothes that need to be iron or hang and give to iron staff.

After breakfast at the canteen, I start my work at laundry at 8. Today I folded clothes for 24 rooms. I start with room M508. That room just need to fold no need to iron. I didn't have any problem at first but Q303 give me trouble because it has so many clothes to fold and a very small clothes it's complicated and takes time to fold and I have so many clothes from other rooms that need to be fold and iron. Room G106 has 12 clothes and 6 needs to iron. Then I make a mistake at room H513. That room didn't give a bill form so I thought I just need to fold but that room need to iron. But I don't think it's my fault because other staff know about that they didn't tell me anything. The next room need to iron was K306 11 clothes with 8 irons.

Today the first room already need to iron. Room H504 this room always complaining about everything such as old laundry bag, didn't iron and so much more. Room R511 has the many clothes, 38 with 11 need to iron. Today I have in total 20 rooms that send they clothes to laundry that under my care. Q111 also has clothes that need to iron(8) with all 17 in total. B401 also need to iron( 6) with 16 total of all clothes.  Room K203 send 21 small clothes and very hard to fold and takes time. That room send a lot kids clothes like baby clothes very small. Last but not least, F408 also need to iron 7 clothes with the total of 10 clothes.

As usual today started my day with folding clothes. I start with room M307 with 26 clothes to be fold. Today don't have so many clothes to iron. Only room K306, L202 and J406 have clothes that need to iron. Room P407 has the most clothes that need to fold with 27 in total. Even though today looks like everything went smoothly, but don't be fool by the room that didn't put the bill form. J406 didn't put any bill form in it laundry bag. So I thought that 1 shirt is the only cloth that need to be fold but that room actually want to iron all of the clothes. As usual the senior staff didn't tell me about that. After that, I didn't trust the senior staff anymore. I went to office and ask for the highlights list of the laundry. So after this I won't make any mistakes anymore.

Today I start my day with folding the clothes for room B308. This room has 23 pieces of clothes with no cloth need to press and iron. Everything went smoothly without any problem for today. There are not so many clothes that need to fold and iron for today. However, I managed to fold for 39 rooms in total. C301 has the most many clothes with 27 in total without pressing. For today only 8 rooms that need iron and pressing(8 under my list only not include other staff). F110 has the many clothes that need iron with 9 iron with the total of 11 clothes. P113 has the less clothes that need iron which is only 2 with the total of 7 clothes. After lunch, I noticed that C301 has 2 laundry bag that might be accidentally separated from one another during the first arrival. It's not a big problem I got everything under control.

Today I have a room with 11 pressing with the total of 21 clothes and that room is L302. This room has a lot request so this room listed in the reminder list because this room need to change the laundry bag daily. However, I start my day with K101 with 17 pieces of clothes and 6 pressing. C201 has the most clothes with the total of 34 pieces of clothes followed by the first runner up K105 with total of 29 pieces of clothes. R115 cause Lotus laundry a big loss because this room only has 4 pieces of clothes with total of half kg and total price of RM2 only. But, he wants his clothes to be washed separately from others and it's costly more on electric power detergent and softening. Plus, his laundry bag was rip apart so we need to place with a new one( 1 bag=RM1) in the end he only pay RM2.

Today I start my day at 7.30 am because I have to serve in f&b for breakfast buffet. PETRONAS RAPID PROJECT(PRPC), Lotus Desaru' s long stay guests. Organised a buffet for all PRPC staff and family for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was chosen to serve them during breakfast and dinner for today event. The buffet took place in Lotus Ball Room from 8-10.30 am. After 12 pm, I'm back to laundry to do my job in laundry. Since I enter the laundry at 12, so I can't reach the 30 rooms target. I start fold for room H111 with 13 pieces of clothes without pressing. Today I got the room with the most complain. He loves to complain I think maybe it his job. That room is J403. I didn't get any complain but before this he complain about his we don't iron his boxer. The first guest who want his boxer to be iron. So today I iron all his 29 clothes including underwear and socks. His laundry bill total is RM215, deal with it. Next room with problem is B412 because this room has so many clothes with the total of 48 pieces and everything need to be folded.

As usual I start my day by folding clothes in laundry. I start with M310. This room has 21 pieces clothes in total and 7 pieces need to iron. I started with this room because it was an urgent call from this room. Today I folded for 32 rooms in total with the total of pressing 25 pieces. Today room B114 has the most clothes that need to fold with 46 pieces. Other room that require pressing were G515, H305, P501, P404 and H504. M310 has 2 laundry bags but it was separated from each other. Each bags has 21 and 24 pieces and 7 and 6 pressing. B114 also has 2 laundry bags with 46 and 10 pieces. Next, B412 also has 2 laundry bags with 21 and 33 pieces for each bags.

Today quite a busy day, I've folded clothes for 35 rooms for today. The room with the most many clothes is N302 with total of 59 pieces and all need to be folded with no pressing. The room with most pressing is L201. This room has 2 laundry bags with 10 and 11 pieces each bag. Total pressing 1 and 8 pieces each bag. Room F405 want all clothes to be iron but total clothes for F405 only 5 pieces. Today most of the room on my list are from block L. There are L202 with 2 laundry bags 14and 6 pieces for each bag with 1 pressing, L104 7 pieces, L301 12 pieces and L201 as I state earlier. Next block is J with 5 bags. J501 with 13 pieces, J307 with 2 laundry bags with 21 and 26 pieces for each bag, J303 with 7 pieces and J515 with 7 pieces and 4 pressing. Next, rooms with pressing are Q403 total of 17 pieces but 4 pieces pressing, E401 with the total of 5 pieces and only 3 pressing, A301 total of 4 pieces ang 1 pressing and N508 with total of 16 pieces and 6 pressing.

After 1 day off, I'm back with a new spirit. Today I managed to fold for 40 rooms. I started with S113 which is a urgent room and many pieces of clothes with total of 60 pieces. Today I have 14 rooms with pressing with the total of 57 pieces that need to be iron. Start with F107 with total of 20 and 12 need to iron. P306 has 6 pieces and 5 need iron. D305 has 15 pieces and 7 iron. H504 has only 3 pieces and only 1 pressing. P104 has 14 pieces clothes and 6 pressing. Others rooms with pressing are Q504, L105, F111, B406, D404, S301, M105, F408 and H407. Next room with most clothes that need folded is P512 with the total of 33 pieces but this room not as complicated as S113 because P512 do not has baby's clothes. S113 has so may baby's clothes and that will made my work become complicated because baby's clothes are small and it so hard to fold and it takes time.

I'm still managed to achieve 40 rooms for a day since today I've finished folding for 40 rooms. However from 40 rooms only 11 need pressing. I started my day with A407 with 13 pieces and no pressing just folding. G116 has the most many clothes with 30 pieces and M512 has the most pressing with 10 pressing from 13 pieces. G408 was weird since this room had sent half pair of sock. Maybe the sock went missing at his/her room or closet. J116 also has many pressing with 9 pressing from 11 pieces in total. A407 has 2 laundry bags with 13 and 7 pieces each bag. Next, D303 also has 2 laundry bags with 15 and 20 pieces each bag. Others rooms with pressing are F111, B520, P306, N302, F407, C508, M509, H504 and G301 with the total of 42 pieces pressing.

Today  not many pressing required. Only 11 rooms need pressing with the total of 35 pieces only. That rooms are H408, B406, M509, another H408, D404, Q301, S405, C405, E403, A512 and G402. As I state earlier there were 2 laundry bags from H408 with 6 and 5 pieces each bag. E403 has tge most pressing because it's required all iron with the total of 10 pieces.

For today I started folding for room J405 with 11 pieces without pressing. Today I managed to folded for 40 rooms and pressing only 12 rooms. Room A116 has the most pressing with 11 pieces pressing from the total of 15 pieces. The room with the most clothes was B114 with 48 pieces of clothes and everything need to be folded with no pressing. P306 also has a lot of clothes with 29 pieces with no pressing. The total of pressing for today is 56 pieces. Start with Q516 all pressing with 9 pieces, H407 just 1 pressing from the total of 6 pieces. M108 also press all with the total of 7 pieces. N510 also has a lot of pressing with 9 press from the total of 16 pieces. Q101 the room with no bill form but also need pressing because this room already informed the office that he wants pressing. Q101 has 7 press from the total of 10 pieces. Others rooms with pressing are F107, Q508, M505, P404, R402 and Q107.

C101 is the 8th room with 15 pieces. Started from E104 pressing required with 4 press from the total of 8 pieces. Next room with pressing is F405 with 4 press from  the total of 10 pieces. In between those rooms B404 has the tital of 10 pieces with no pressing. Next is J403 with 5 press from the total of 13 pieces, B405 2 press with the total of 25 pieces. E503 9 pieces in total but 3 pieces pressing, A116 all pressing with 10 pieces in total. H404 has the most pressing with 11 pressing from the total of 19 pieces followed by J516 with 7 presses from the total of 12 pieces. H510 needs pressing  with total pressing of 5 pieces from the total of 14 pieces. Between those 2 rooms has H302 without pressing with the total of 13 pieces folded. Next rooms with pressing are A303 and J504 with 5 and 7 pieces for each room. J504 has 3 laundry bags in total with 14, 30 and 8 pieces for each bags.

C406 is another room with pressing 7 pieces in total but only 4 pressing followed by H504 and B401 with the total of 5 and 17 pieces each and 2 and 7 pressing for each room. Before another pressing there are a few rooms that only folding required. There are H508 with the total of 17 pieces followed by C103 with the total of 13 pieces. Next is B522 with 6 pieces, E114 with 14 pieces C510 with 10 pieces and  L404 with 8 pieces in total. Next is H504 with 2 pressing from the total of 4 pieces only. Next pressing is H106 with only 1 pressing with the total of 18 pieces in total. For today most clothes goes to P501 with the total of 43 pieces plus half pair of sock. Followed by M514 with the total dmof 43 pieces and D113 with the total of 41 pieces.

R115 cause Lotus laundry a big loss because this room only has 4 pieces of clothes with total of half kg and total price of RM2 only. But, he wants his clothes to be washed separately from others and it's costly more on electric power detergent and softening.
