He compared the remains to Talsma's missing person report. Records showed that David fractured his left arm as a kid which matched one of the victims. The height of the remains also matched Talsma's height. The remains showed the left arm was slightly longer than the right arm and the scapula was beveled which means that the person they belonged to was left handed and Talsma was left handed.

Once luring him close enough, he put handcuffs on him and kidnapped him.
