Hello my name is Zaida and I am thirteen yeras old.My birthday is on November 22 and I study at the IES Eduardo Primo Marqués institute.

Since I was little I have always been a very funny girl and that does not stop still.A curiosity about me is that since I was little. I have been told that I have a gift for small children.I love spending time with small children.

My favorite color is blue and I prefer a thousand times more to go to the mountains than to the beach.My favorite animal is horse although I have a cat named Max.

Hello! My name is Georgia and I am 13 and a half. I come from a very famous ,for its olive trees , island , Thassos.

As I assume you already know, not only does my country have many olive trees , but yours , too. Olive is very useful either for food or our hygiene . We mainly use them for the olive oil production . But we also use them for other reasons such as soaps , moistoriser creams , hair masks etc.

In the past , they represented pease , wisdom and hope , but the Ancient Greeks also used them as a reward for the winner of the Olympic Games. So, I think it is safe to say that olives symbolize victory, too.

There is , also , a Greek myth for the olive tree. They say that Athens was named after the Godess Athina, after her fight with the God Poseidon.

In the future , we can use them for medicines as they have very important vitamins .The trace elements of olives are potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron and magnesium, while those preserved in brine contain large amounts of sodium. Olives, due to vitamin A, help the body in growth-reproduction, vision, skin and have an anti-cancer effect, while tocopherols have antioxidant properties and also an anti-cancer effect.Vitamins A, D, E and K, contained in olives, help bone growth in children and adults.Vitamin E and other antioxidants contained in olives reduce the risk of cell damage and inflammation.

Finally, we have to protect these type of trees as they are good for our food , health and many other reasons.

The oliver reached ancient Greece in the Bronze Age, setting its roots in an ideal environment, ideal for the best olive cultivation in the world. The ancient Greeks used olives as their main source of fat.

To produce oloive oil, the ancient GReeks used stone presses and clay, vessels to produce excellent quality olive oil, which is not very different from the virgin olive oil produced today.The health benefits and healing properties of olive oil were first reported by Hippocrates, the father of medicine, who used olive oil to treat his patents. Also olive oil was called liquid gold by Homer.

The olive tree was the symbol of wisdom and peace, the sacred tree of the ancient city of Athens. According to Greek mythology, Zeus decided that the city should be given to either Poseidon or Athena , derending on who offered the most useful gift. Poseidon struck the ground with his trident and a spring of sea water appeared, while Athena struck the bare ground with her spear and an olive tree sprouted. The people chose Athena's gift and the city was named after her. In the acient Olympic games, the winners were honored with a simple olive wreath cut with a golden knife from a wild olive tree. The history Of olove oil has been identified with Greek history for over 4000 years.

In the time of the Ancient Greeks, they symbolised the ancient Godness of wisdom, named Athina, so and the wisdom. Nowdays, we use the olive tree to symbolise peace.}

^{A crown of an olive tree also used to be the prices for the winners of the ancient Οlympic games. Imagine that they were trainning so hard and they were proud just for a crown of an olive tree! Isn't sad that now people care only about money?}

^{In our region, olive trees are very important for the economy. Oil is also essential to Mediterennian diet, which is very healty. You can find olive trees only in Valcanian countries. So my country has got something unique.}

Hello! My name is John I am thirteen years old I am from Kavala(Greece) and my favourite color is blue and purple. I am a student at Kavala's second high school. My great grandparents were from Kiev but i am mainly from Greece.I can speak good English, a little German and Spanish.

In my region there are over 2 million olive trees and we mainly use them for oil production.In the past olive trees represented peace, friendships plus wisdom and they still do! In the future we can use them for biological medicine and for therapies.

We have to protect this type of tree because they have a main role to our culture, history and tradition.
