"If you want something to be private ... keep it offline"

The fact that everything we do on the internet can be used against us in form of cyber-crimes or harmless targeted ads is quite scary. And that our data is not ours to own. Of course for companies this is amazing that they have data on our behaviour and preferences to use but the data can get in the wrong hands. It really gives a perspective to online posting because once you put it out there, it can't be taken off. The internet nowadays isn't the internet I grew up with and seeing so young kids using tablets and posting Youtube videos is quite scary but also understandable. You can also identify yourself easier because you can see outside your community, for example in small eastern villages you might not see that many trans people or different sexual orientations and in this identification process, the internet really makes a difference. Also different kinds of people gives you the feeling that you are not alone and you can find similar people all around the world. To conclude this stream of consciousness: you can tailor the image you give on social media and choose not to give out that much information on yourself, if you want to.

There is always data collecting from people.
- Of course, you will extent your social circle.
- Social media helps you to know more other's opinions, even you don't know them. Even If I switched my phone, Google is the provider of most of my online presence. It has already been shown that google indeed does listen to what you are saying, even when not talking to your phone or virtual assistants, and makes recommendations based on that.

As the video stated, social media is a huge part of the day-to-day interaction we take part of. The platforms we use have made it easier to contact, communicate and meet people online and one could argue these factors being the reason why social media is so addictive. However, there is the other side of the coin that is not considered – the impact social media has on children. The video introduces the viewer Pear, a young girl doing makeup videos on social media. I am all for expressing oneself, but as she herself stated, she does get negative feedback on her videos from people arguing if she is too young to provide such content. I would say that there are always people who will criticize no matter what you do, but I personally don’t think that children should be taught to cherish the follower or click amount as much as many tend to do nowadays. I think that caused by social media, people are giving way too much value on the attention gained through social media – no matter if it’s a stranger or someone you know giving the comments or thumbs ups. Even though social media seems to be something we can not live without, I believe that children should let be children and not be taught to think that the likes and comments on some platform matter or make you any less worth than a friend that has a hundred likes more than you.

Often people forget how much data they present online and how this data is used. I think that there is a great unawareness of people. In my opinion it would be good if schools started teaching a more secure use of the internet and enlighten especially children. As we can see in the video, technology has its advantages for shy people or data exchange. From personal experience, it has helped me stay in touch with people who are thousands of kilometers away. Overall, technology and what it enables each one of us to do is one of the greatest inventions, in my opinion, given that it isn't used to exploit people or do harm.

Nowadays, our information is the currency of large organizations so it does appear to be that privacy is either severely in danger or completely dead.

- The ideas presented although important, might be over exaggerated. Because everyone uses the internet it almost itself is protection, hide in the masses. The idea that a almost hidden identity would be created is not thought all the way through. What about criminal records? Would those be protected? The internet has lot of positives and negatives. To avoid the negatives you need to do only the things that are of the utmost importance.

The internet is a thing so huge many people are not able to grasp the actual size of it - which they cannot be blamed for. I think the Video makes it clear how much people actually share on the internet and how much safer than they should they are feeling. The video also points out how the internet makes us give way less importance to living in the moment, which is definitely not a good effect of it. I personally think that the internet is a great tool for many things, it should just be treated with a little more respect. Not only regarding social media, but regarding the usage of the internet in general. Many people don't understand how much of their data is collected and are then surprised - this should not be an issue, people should be made aware of how public everything is that they ever share on the internet.

The overall point of the video is good and the idea was brilliant but the execution of that idea was lackluster.

What i mean by this is that the video only scratches the surface and oversimplifies a wide and complex problem.

It was pretty to look at though so points for them there.

It is crucial to think that everything you do online, can be traced back to you. If you think ahead for fifty years, who knows how you have changed and how your thoughts have developed comparing to present situation. It is good to keep in mind, that nothing goes missing in the internet but stays alive in some form.

The video is about a very important topic. Whatever you post online will be there forever. It is like a life long thread of your life that anyone, anywhere can read. Social meadia incourages us to post stuff about ourselves and makes it out to be the norm. But i feel people need to really think hard on what they post. The video goes into good points on the topic, but only in small detail. the topic is a massive one, a topic many of us are yet to understand.

cybersecurity is something that is becoming more of an issue. Its hard for us to understand how much threat there is one the internet, for we can not see it, and most of the times if attacked, we may not téven know it.
Overall the internet is a great tool to share info, but we need to be very careful on what we post and how we use it.
