Procedure of chocking

> Firstly ask if the person is choking and ask if they can cough up the trapped object.
By doing this you will know how to keep them calm and reassure the person that you are going to help them.
The advantage of this is that you are prepared for the next step that needs to happen to help the person stop chocking. However, the disadvantage is that the person will probably be very agitated and unresponsive, so it might not get a response back and you will have to think independently or it maybe difficult to try and calm the person down.

> If they are unable to cough up the object that's causing grief then give the person five back blows, you must stop and reassure by checking if the object is still stuck, you will know this if the person is still chocking, repeat the back blows three times.
By doing this you are helping the person remove the issue that's causing them to choke, and if they're airways clear you can reassure them to cough.
The only advantage is that you have saved the persons life and made sure they have stopped chocking. However, a disadvantage is they may complain because they are in pain and they need to see a doctor.

> If the back blows have not worked after repeating three times then move on to abdominal thrusts, give the person five abdominal thrusts and make sure you stop and reassure to see if the person is still choking, if so repeat this move three more times.
By doing this you are again helping and reassuring that the person can be airway clear.
The advantage of this is that again the person is able to breath and if they can breath they will then not fall unconscious, or need further procedures such as CPR. However, the disadvantage of this is that the person will complain about the pain and injury this may of caused, for example bruising of the ribs, so you will have to make sure the person is able to see a doctor or go hospital.

>If the back blows or abdominal thrusts have not worked and the person is falling unconscious then call 999, make sure the person is lying down and if they have stopped breathing then do CPR.
By doing this you are making sure the person is getting enough oxygen to the brain, and will hopefully save the person's life until the ambulance comes and takes further action. The advantage of this is that when you lay the person down they may still be choking, but feel relaxed, and if they have gone unconscious then they are in the perfect position to do CPR until the ambulance comes, when doing CPR you are also not neglecting them. However, the disadvantage is that CPR may not work so it may make you feel less calm and worried that the ambulance wont be there in time.

Procedure of concussion

> When someone is suffering from concussion you must first recognize the signs and symptoms.
The symptoms you may recognize is a headache, feeling emotional, their appearance, drowsiness, they're confused, agitated, they're having a seizure, or they can not see or hear.
The advantage of this procedure is that you are making sure if the person has any serious injuries and if they can continue with their activity or game, this then stops there being any further risk of injury, and if they do have concussion then they will not be neglected. However, the disadvantage is that if the player is being taking off, it could cause and issue with the game or match and deciding if there are enough players to continue.

> After recognizing the signs and symptoms you then should remove the player/ injured person.
This is because you suspect that they have concussion so they need to be assessed further by a health care professional.
The advantage of doing this is that you are providing the injured person with the help and care they need, and to see if they need further medical help or are able to carry on. However, the disadvantage is that because the player could be agitated, they may disagree with being assessed and want to finish the game. If so this could cause more serious symptoms like a seizure or further injury, meaning if you allow them to carry on playing, then this is negligence from your duty to care for the player.

> When you have removed the person to a safer area or a match/game you should allow them to recover.
By giving the player time to recover the symptoms they are having may calm down and help the person feel more relaxed. When recovering this could be short term, for example laying down, or long term, such as taking a few weeks to recover.
The advantage of recovery is that it prevents further symptoms such as a seizure, or stops further injury. However, the disadvantage is that the player may try to recover more quickly, for they don't want to miss an important game/match, if they do try to recover quickly this could lead to them having more serious symptoms or causing themselves more injuries.

> Finally, when you let the player recover they must then see if they can return.
They do this by first following a step-wise Graduated Return to Play (GRTP). This is when they must be carried on being assessed until a doctor has gave them permission to go back to the sport.
The advantage of this is that if the player has been given permission by a doctor to return to their sport, then you know they have fully recovered. However, the disadvantage of this is that the player will complain because if the symptoms were long term then it will of affected their participation in the sport, the miss of training, and the affect that the recovery will have on their performance.

Procedure of a fire alarm

> When a fire alarm is going off make sure you first stop the game or activity that is being played.
By doing this you are then able to speak to the participants and tell them where the fire exit is.
The advantage of doing this is that you have their attention, so they are able to listen and be evacuated from the building safely. However, the disadvantage of this is that some may want to carry on with the game or activity and decide to keep playing, so you need to make sure everyone has stopped so they can listen to the instructions you're about to give them.

> When you have everyone's attention tell them to leave in an orderly fashion out of the fire exit.
By doing this there will be less pushing and injuries caused whilst leaving the building. Before leaving you should also tell the participants not to run. This is an advantage because when everyone is walking they will be in a calm mood and walking will cause less injuries. However, this can also be a disadvantage because depending on how dangerous the fire is, you will want to evacuate the participants from the building as quickly as possible.

> Whilst everyone is evacuating the building, and you have fount out the fire can not be dealt with by the extinguisher, then call the fire brigade.
By doing this you are asking for professional help to solve the issue and help protect the participants and members of staff.
Calling the fire brigade is an advantage because if there is a huge issue, such as someone still being in the building then they can help search for the person and return them safely from the building. However, there could be a disadvantage for it depends on how big the fire is, for example if the fire was big and there was someone in the building, there could be chance that they can't stop the fire in time to save the person, meaning that you was unable to show duty of care when evacuating everyone from the building.

> When you think everyone has been evacuated, make sure they are far from the building, then do a register.
By doing a register you are finding out who is there, absent, or if anyone is still in the building.
The advantage of doing a register is that you will know that something is wrong when someone is missing. however, the disadvantage is that if you have large groups to check it can be time consuming, and you will need to know quickly if anyone is missing to solve the issue quickly.
