Explanation: This is the place where the murders occurred. The police made the mistake of not securing the scene which allowed contamination of the blood via footprints and other DNA. Many people were allowed to walk through the area without being stopped.

There was EDTA found in the blood on the gate and walkway way of the house after the scene was washed away. It is a chemical only used by forensic scientists and not created naturally in blood. It shows that someone planted the blood there.

If I was a police officer, I would have been sure there were no unnecessary or untheorized chemicals being used. As well as keeping surveillance over the homes, so that no one could trespass to plant misleading evidence.

My critique:

Had not the police stepped into the car as well as the EDTA chemical found, this would have been solid evidence.

My critique:

If the area was correctly protected, the shoeprint would have been a key identifier of our killer. There should have been a mold taken of the print by using dental cement.

If I was an investigator, these three pieces of evidence would be kept sacred. Even before they could be turned in, no one should have been near the evidence. I would have used highlighting agents to see and test the blood.

My critique:

Overall, the police were given all the evidence needed to handle their case and did not have the chance to test them. Contamination is not a factor that can be looked over but, in this case, the scientist was unable to match the evidence to the blood.
