The main characters that appear in the story are William Wilson ( who is the narrator) and the other William Wilson the copy identical to the first.
The story begins by recalling the childhood of William Wilson the first. He went to a school that was like a boarding school, the account that always from small with his family to his holy will, in school happened the same, all children were under His dominion, only one of them always contradicted him, in a few words he made life impossible, it happened that this child was called just like him and even measured the same, their features were identical, until they were born the same day. Sometimes they confused them, and that annoyed William Wilson. The other noticed it and quickly learned to imitate all of it. Only he had a slight defect spoke as if in a low voice, and William Wilson took advantage of this. He says that what annoyed him most was that sometimes he gave advice but acknowledges that if he had listened had lived happier. 
After time passes and William Willson indulges in a life full of debauchery, but William Wilson who imitated him always appears at the least appropriate time to ruin his malefic plans. This filled William Wilson with hatred and one day he faces him to death, where he ends up killing him by nailing him a sword. However, at the end William Wilson (who imitates) utters these words: 
"You have overcome and I surrender, but also you are dead, from now on ... dead to the world, to heaven and to hope. In me you existed ... and in killing me, see in this image that is yours, As you have killed yourself! ''
That other one I killed was his conscience. In the end the guy is trastorno and suicide.
