         <description><![CDATA[<div>The battle of Ap Bac was over the control of the village of Ap Bac. The battle for this land was between the Viet Cong and the ARVN forces. In terms of casualties, The VC suffered far less than the ARVN forces, with 61 killed and over one hundred injured. In terms of the Battle for Ap Bac itself, it can  be said that it was a draw or just a victory for ARVN themselves because they did end up winning the land, but it was because the VC ended up retreating as they were no longer interested in fighting for that territory.</div>]]></description>
