At the end of the book, she learns she is not the daughter of her mother and becomes much wiser than she was before.
DIVERSITY ELEMENT:
This book is diverse because it portrays a girl who lives in a much different time period than we do, deals with much different things than us, and has a much different faith and different beliefs most of us have.

    Ally is a student around our age but faces problems I don't have to like the inability to read letters and how she gets made fun of. She has dyslexia which is just a different way of learning.

Wonder is the ultimate book about judging a person for who they are on the inside, and overcoming differences to achieve your dreams. However, there are a few kind things that Boo does. For example, the kids go to the house to look through the windows and one boy rips his pants on the fence and the next day when they go back they find the pants sewed back up. Also, the kids find candy and all different treats inside of a tree in front of Boo's house.  Then, Scout's family is frowned upon in their town because Scout's father agrees to defend a black man who is accused of raping a white woman. Over time, Scout beings to realize how racist people in her town really are and how they blame the black community for everything. 
    Diversity Element - To Kill a Mocking Bird is diverse because the laws in the town are very different from the law today. Also, Scout lives in a different time period then I live in, and she endures different challenges than I do. Also, Scout is motherless.

  • The diverse element is that she lives in Pakistan, for one, which is a different location. She also has to wear a burqa, which is physical appearance. This is why, I think that this book fits the "Reading Without Walls", challenge.

He was born with fluid in his skull, so he's had a lot of surgery and he would get beat up a lot if it weren't for his best friend, the toughest kid on the rez.     The diversity element of this book is that the main character is Native American, and he lives in a very segregated world, where the whites and the Native Americans stay apart, until him. Also, this book is diverse because he had brain damage and he couldn't ever play rough.     The diversity element of this book is that one charatcer is transgender and the other is bipolar. Both struggle with everyday challenges and keeping their secrets from the world.
