         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>This is an ironic allusion&nbsp; because Hester, who is a sinner represents the merchant who sold everything he had to buy the Pearl of great value. This is an ironic allusion because it shows how Pearl, is being compared to salvation and redemption. The Pearl in the Bible verse represents salvation, and it shows how we should value salvation over anything else. So the Scarlet Letter manages to show the importance of Pearl in that way</strong></div>]]></description>
