I was impressed by the determination of these women to become who they want to be. One may just know them from being in the supreme court, but what really defines them is their struggle to get there, since they lived in a time period where women were not equal with men.

Mr. Smith Reflection

I enjoyed this movie because of the unconventional way Smith represented himself in congress. All of the people in congress have prepared their whole lives to be in this position, but Smith had never even imagined it. It gives a fresh new outlook in congress. It was encouraging to see the underdog come out on top because in politics, people do not always take the underdog seriously. I was kind of confused about the end. I didn't really understand what drew Paine to come clean about everything. He was very aware of everything that was at stake for him and his career, but he decided for some reason that it didn't matter anymore. So many people are motivated by money so it was shocking to me. I was kind of upset because there wasn't much falling action in the movie. It pretty much ended at the climax.

Mr. Smith Creative Ideas

After Mr. Smith would get his boys camp on Willet Creek, I believe that Jefferson Smith would leave congress. He is now aware that there are too many people who are motivated by money, and think of their own good before the good of the people. He would leave as an honorable man, and Taylor would be sentenced to prison. After everything blows over, and there is sufficient funding, Smith would create his boys camp and he would be the head of it because he knows that youth is his passion. He would marry Clarissa, as she left Washington as well. She would get a job working for a newspaper, and she would make sure to publish content that is the entire truth. I don't think Smith would really associate himself with a specific political party because he doesn't want to have his ideas swayed by what his party would believe.

The only congressperson from Illinois who I would think would be as similar to Mr. Smith as possible would be Mike Bost. He is the republican representative for the 12th district. This district covers the majority of Southern Illinois, which means that Bost knows the importance of the land. One of his main platforms is agriculture, proving that he knows the importance of valuing the land and using it in the most efficient ways. Before he was a representative, he was a firefighter, which means he was just like everybody else. Prior to being a firefighter, he was a truck driver. He is the most down to earth person representing Illinois.
