I picked the artist Logic and his hit song "1-800-273-8255" because of the song's undeniable social importance. Hip Hop is one of my favorite genres, but I have never enjoyed Logic's recordings. Even though he is very lyrically very talented their is just a very boring element to his music. Even though i may not enjoy his music, i can not deny the importance and significance of this song. He uses his personal experience in dealing with suicide and the importance of acknowledging suicide as a major issue amongst teens. Suicide is a rarely talked about subject in the genre of hip hop, because of this an entire group of listeners was exposed to a topic that they may have previously never talked about.
