Raf’-ul-Hadath (Uplifting Ritual Impurity)

-refers to the ablution (wudoo)

Izaalat-un-Najaasah (Removing Filth)

-requires removing it from three things: From one’s body, from one’s garments and from the area of praying

Sitr-ul-‘Awrah (Covering the ‘Awrah):

Dukhool-ul-Waqt (Entrance of the Proper Time)

Istiqbaal-ul-Qiblah (Facing the Ka’bah)

An-Niyyah (The Intention)

Standing, if one has the ability to do so

The opening Takbeer

Reciting Surah Al-Faatihah;

Bowing;

Rising from Bowing

Prostrating on all seven limbs

Erecting oneself from it

Sitting between the two prostrations

Remaining tranquil (i.e. not rushing) during all of these pillars

Maintaining the same sequence

the Final Tashahhud

Sitting for it

Sending Salaat on the Prophet

The (final) two Tasleems

Qaṣr & Jama'

Three valid conditions:

-> The distance for the travel must be at least 81 km

-> A travel where the destination is certain

-> The travel is not for sinful purposes.

Nawāfil (optional prayer)

has it's own reward to the person performing them, similar to sunnah prayers

Salah during illness

Islam allows flexibility in the positions of prayer during illness. As Prophet Muhammad said, “Pray while standing and if you can’t, pray while sitting and if you cannot do even that, then pray lying on your side”. (Al-Bukhari 2:20, 218).
