Bloody Sunday
Troops and police open fire on a peaceful
demonstration outside the Winter Palace and elsewhere in St Petersburg, killing
and injuring around 1,000 people. The liberal press blames Nicholas II.

I believe this is an important event because it's one of the first causes that made the citizens realize that they couldn't be treated like this any longer, and it gave them more reason/power to speak up.

Two days later, the strikes spread across Petrograd.

This is important because it is one of the first successful protests, where no one is killed or injured, it's also of one the protests that brought more people like soldiers/the army in because they also agreed with the cause.

The following day Nicholas’ brother Mikhail announces his refusal to accept the throne. A Provisional Government is formed to replace the tsarist government, with Prince Lvov becoming the leader.

As stated earlier this was caused by the protest before, many people including the army were joining the protests and when Tsar wanted to send them out to stop it, they disagreed.
