The job of a principal this year has been one of the hardest jobs I can imagine. There are really no words to fully describe everything that you have had to manage and lead through on the daily. Society has asked you to make school happen regardless of whether the people you need, the structures you need, or the tools you need are there. And yet, you have led. You have balanced creative solutions and grit to keep safety and care for the whole person and the opportunity for in-person learning to happen all front and center. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Incredible to visit AF Hartford HS and do a walkthrough of Enrichment classrooms with you. Surreal? Yes. Mind-bending? Definitely. A moment of pride? Absolutely. How wonderful it is to be on this long journey of life with you - knowing you since 5th grade and seeing you grow into this amazing leader. You carry on the tradition of African American brilliance set by people like Mary McLeod Bethune and understand how critical the role of education is in our communities. You give our mandate the proper level of dedication, and you strive to not only be accountable at all times, but to help the people around you be the best version of themselves. I very much want to sign you as a free agent and get you back on our team, but I am very happy knowing that Hartford High has such an amazing educator in their midsts.
