Police officers were informed that someone tried to use counterfeit money in a store. They approached the suspect in his vehicle. The officers struggled  to get the suspect (George Floyd, 46)  out of the car but then successfully handcuffed him. Floyd fallen to the ground and the officer lifted him up and led him to the sidewalk. With him they walked across the street back towards their squad car where he fallen a second time. 
A witness captured how one of the officers (Derek Chauvin, 44) pressed his knee into George Floyd’s neck while Floyd was pleading for his mother and repeatedly saying "I can't breathe".
He died shortly after lapsing into unconsciousness.

Given that so much people, especially black ones had to face violence by police officers in the U.S. before, protests and several different reactions on social platforms almost started immediately. There are quiet a number of videos from influencers and reports on newspaper websites that proof great shock and anger from all over the world. Protests were held in big cities like Los Angeles, New York and Charlotte, N.C.
On Monday the protesters marched at Washington Square Park in Manhattan, another 1,000 gathered in L.A. near a memorial for all those killed by the police. In Charlotte , N.C. they called for police reforms right before a City Council Meeting.

The funeral found place in the „Fountain of Praise“ Church in Houston when he got celebrated for his life and value for the now upcoming unstoppable movement of the men and women which no longer accept the inequality and brutality from the police and generally everyone as it is today. Even the families of those black people which got killed earlier like Breonna Taylor were on George Floyd‘s commemorative ceremony to honor him. They were just a few of all the family and friends such as prominent figures which attended the burial.
