We don't mind doing a product, but we don't like to sing or dance to show our learning. :)

Organization of Knowledge: We like short, simple, and fast. We don't like someone to read something to us that we can read ourselves (like a powerpoint). We like meaningful videos or visuals to help.

Clear and Compelling Product Standards: We love notes of affirmation to let us know we're on the right track.

Protection from Adverse Consequences: We like to try new things and take risks (like flexible seating) as long as we are supported and have the materials to do so. We also like some protection from judgement if there are some growing pains with the risks. For example, if we try a new grouping system or flexible seating, there is going to be a period of adjustment as we and the students learn the new routines. Support and affirmation, mixed with constructive problem solving, would help us feel successful.

Affiliation: We like to do things as a team.

Affirmation: We love something written for affirmation - email or post it notes. We even like when things are said to us or our team. I like it when you like my tweets.

Choice: We like choice about how we learn and present things. Some of our team prefers to learn in a small, safe group environment. They don't like to share or talk in front of the whole staff. Some of the group doesn't mind talking in front of a group. None of us like dancing/signing/performing, so we prefer to choose a less showy way of sharing our learning.

Novelty and Variety: It is easy for us to stay focused on topics that are applicable to our jobs. We don't necessarily need things to be novel, we appreciate routines and familiar procedures, but we do want the learning to be interesting and seem authentic to us.

Authenticity: Things focused on our grade level or age range are more authentic to us. For example, we find training aimed at K-12 less valuable to us than K-2 or first grade specific trainings. We want learn more about design before we are required to use the concepts.

Content and Substance: We have varying levels of understanding about design, due to different amounts of training. Some of us feel very comfortable with design and the design qualities, while some of us are new to the concepts of design.

Content and Substance: We need/enjoy the conversation throughout the teams and across the teams. We do feel like the repetitive topics wear on us and make it more difficult to engage.
Affirmation: When we succeed or do well, we love to share with each other, (our team.) We also share a lot with our students so we are able to relate with them. We do not often "show off" to our administrators, but we value being noticed and praised by them.
Choice: W e retain and learn best by practicing. Applying what we are taught is most effective! For example: using Padlet in this meeting helps me to implement it in my classroom.
Novelty and Writing: Learn how to do something first and then practice it is most effective. We stay engaged when we find usefulness in what is taught. If it is not applicable or relevant, it is difficult to find purpose in our efforts.
Authenticity: It is important to focus on the purpose of being educators. There are often extra tasks that seem to impede that focus.
