1) The short story "The Lottery" A town of people all group up in the middle of town for a lottery and Tessie is late to the meeting. and Mr.summers slips wood chips into the lottery because there inst enough people so he makes it more full. after talking for a little bit a lot of people pulled from the lottery and Tessie ended up getting the black mark. Then she was stoned to death by the town via the stones the children gathered.
2) The children are described in my own words as playful. "before they broke out into boisterous play." this can show how the children are always so eager to be playful even if its just collecting stones

1. In the short story "The Lottery" a village of people who all gather in the center of town to do a lottery. The entire story revolves around the actions of the townspeople before the lottery begins and how they all react to the situation around them. The twist is that the lottery decides who gets to die and a character Tess is chosen and the kill her with stones.
2. Tess
I would describe Tess as rebellious since throughout the story she talks about the lottery very negatively such as when she said "You didn't give him enough time to take any paper he wanted. I saw you its not fair."
