Hiragana is the Japanese version of our "abc". Katakana sounds similar to Hiragana but it is used for foreign words. Kanji is full of different symbols, was adopted from Chinese Culture and even has over 10 thousand different symbol letters.

It represents a time of renewal and optimism. The bright pink flower also marks the ending of winter and signifies the beginning of spring. Japanese cherry blossom trees are ornamental and don't give fruit like the other cherry trees.
