Sonnet 116, assignment 2

Dear William,

Thank You so much for your poem!

You put a lot of work in this and I really appreciate it.

Your definition of love is very poetic and not always clear, but I agree with you that love is not the fool of time, and that love does not change with its short hours and weeks.

No matter what happens I will always love you! I love the citate "love is not love which alters when it alteration finds", because it's completely true. People who think they are in love but don't miss each other that much when they are apart for some time don't have real love!

One thing in your poem is wrong, you say no one ever loved you but dear William I love you so much, it breaks my heart that you wrote that.

I look forward to see you again, greetings Sarah!

Hi Gerard Manley,

I think you wrote a very beautiful poem, I like the way you look at the world and how God has it in his hand. As a result of your poem I wanted to tell you how the world is doing now. People do not take good care of the environment, they drive a lot in cars that emit bad substances, there is a lot of plastic in the oceans and a lot of plastic is used and thrown away. But still the world and the nature looks beautiful. What you wrote: ́'generations have trod, have trod, have trod́', I find a nice quote because despite the fact that so many people have already been on this earth and have taken very bad care of the earth, the earth still looks beatiful. You also described this in this quotes: ́'and for all this, nature is never spent́', ́'there lives the dearest freshness deep down thingś'.
I think it́'s good to be aware of this. ́'There lives the dearest freshness deep down thingś'. It́'s also nice to read that: ́'because the Holy Ghost over the bent world broods with warm breast and with bright wingś'.

Greetings, Sarah Veenstra!

A coat, Assignment 1

For the assignment I have drawn a coat bacause the poem is called a coat. I have drawn an eye because in the poem it́'s about the worlds eyes. I have drawn a clock because the poem is about what the poet have worked on in his life (his poems), I also wrote ́'a lot of timé', because he compares it to a coat where he spent a lot of time on. I wrote the word life, that is also because of the just given reason. I made a naked body, because in the last sentence it́'s about walking naked. I have drawn music notes because in the poem he talks about his songs (his poems). I made a small world drawing because in the poem it́'s about the worlds eyes. And I wrote the word fools because it is called in the poem. I think the poet had these things in his head, while he was writing it.

The boys had a difficult test that day. One of those boys was in very bad shape, and wasn't going to make it this year anyway. He was angry with his parents for forcing him to study properly. So he suggested they play hooky. They decided to skip class but didn't know where to go, they couldn't go home because then their parents would know they're not at school for the test. So they went to a cafe and played pool. The boys felt very cool for skipping classes and drank gin, while the boys knew they shouldn't do that. When one of the boys at the gate saw Gwendolyn Brooks looking at them, he thought what was she doing there? Why is she staring at us like that? Leave us alone and mind your own life. He walked to her and became mad at her. He said: "why are you staring at us like we're idiots, mind your own life!" After he said that Gwendolyn Brooks walked away, and knew she had a great topic to write a poem about, she was happy to have a new idea.
