Sundays were the town gatherings at the meetinghouse. A town meeting was held once a year to elect a town leader and voted on laws. Everyone could attend a town meeting but only men with property could vote. He wanted to form a new community. So all men could vote and later he took 100 colonists with him. The war ended when the colonists killed most of the Pequot Indians.
 After the war more colonists moved to America. Metacomet was a leader of the Wampanoag nation he wanted to avoid war but he thought the only way to keep their land was to fight.
