The main idea is animals with bony skeletons are called vertebrates. The details are the backbone supports the body and protects the delicate bundle of nerves that runs the length of the spine, a giraffe's neck is as long as a man is tall, but giraffes and humans have the same number of neck bones, and the skull's most important job is to protect the brain. Were done! Gotta run! Hey! That Rhymes!

We read about bones a couple days and we have been learning about the skeletal systems in science. Today, we read a small passage. This passage talked about how the bones in our back give us bony skeletons along with many other animals. The backbone is made of vertebrae and there are several different small, delicate bundles of nerves that run the length of our spine. Did you know that a giraffe's neck is as long as a man is tall?? Crazy huh?! The skull bone protects the brain. The brain is an important part of our survival. What else did we learn in class?
