         <description><![CDATA[<p>Name: Soren Frogness</p><p><br/></p><p>A major change within this time period was the religious separation of the East and West areas of the Byzantine claim into two different sections of Christianity: Roman Catholicism in the West, and Eastern Orthodoxy in the East - leading to lasting effects still present today.</p><p><br/></p><p>A continuity within this region was the continued expansion of wealth, trade, and knowledge centered around Constantinople/Istanbul. Despite being conquered by Arabs, the city still boomed with trade and historical knowledge/significance, and was a stepping stone to the expansion of the Arab empire. </p>]]></description>
