Dark advertising is a type of online advertising that's only visible to the specific audience it's targeted at. So, only the people who meet the advertiser's criteria will see it, and it won't show up for everyone else.

One example is a "roach motel" which is a situation that is easy to get into, but hard to get out of, like a subscription service or deleting your account. Another example is "bait-and-switch" which is when a product is advertised at a low price to attract customers, only to push them toward a more expensive option once they become interested. One final example of dark advertising that often goes unnoticed is hidden fees. Products or services may have hidden costs that make them more expensive than they appear.

You should adjust your privacy settings. Go into your social media account settings and limit the amount of personal information you share. This can reduce the amount of targeted ads you see. Another thing you must do is always to be skeptical. Always question ads that seem too good to be true or that pressure you to act quickly. Do some research before making any decisions based on an add.
