After the Boxer Rebellion, the QIng officials started to make some reforms. The people of China thought that the reforms were too late and too small, because of this they wanted to overthrow the Qing dynasty. Sun Yixian a radical focused on this idea. - Maggie

The Quing dynasty had been in power for 286 years and Sun knew that it was a time of change for the people of China. He had thoughts of democracy and equality among people in China. His ideas sprung revolutionary thoughts into the people where in Wuchang a group of young officers started a revolt and with the support of others, in January 1912 the revolutionary had become a republic. Fearing that there dynasty would be overthrown a general by the name of Yuan Shikai was set with the task to defeat the rebels. But a peace treaty was nagotiated between the 2 whitch finnaly ended the reign of the Quing dynasty. Later for his peacful thoughs Yuan was named president of the new China Republic. - Jake Bessette

He was the most prominent of these radicals. Sun believed the China should eventually become a democracy. He was also known as Sun Yat-sen in the west. Today he is known as the father of modern China-Celine R.
