This is because a really good set can set the whole mood of the production and can make or break it. For example, if the right lighting is used in a scene that is meant to be sad, this can amplify the emotions that are meant to be portrayed. On the other hand, if the wrong lighting is used, the production may seem bland and forced. Not only that but the soundtrack and sound effects also have the same effect. I find this most interesting because it takes someone with a really good vision to have a perfect set. This can also be seen in films. The aspect that I find most interesting has to be the visual and conceptual designs may it be in terms of props or backdrops, it provides further depth to a a performance for it really captivates and sets a mood for the audience.
