The South American continent is here used as a metaphor. Two lungs are obviously needed for species to breath,  but here the lung is not "full", it's crooked. The Amazonian forest is considered as the lungs of our planet. Hence, with more than 44,013 outbreaks of fires registered between January and August, the past year has been the worst in the rainforest's history. If we continue to destroy it, we could die. We need to take action an act in order to save our dear Earth, since we can't breathe without lungs...

Made by a Black landscape artist during Civil War, this painting was a inaugural present to Joe Biden and his first lady. We can see a stunning landscape with a blue sky, clouds, and a rainbow. It gives an overall peaceful aura, representing the ideas and goals Biden carries for America. The storm has passed, it's now time for peace and hope. The feminist painter and photograph Marilyn Minter portrays contemporary notions of beauty. She shows the woman body sensually and explicitly in her art, wanting to use the distortion and paradox made by the use of glamour and fashionable elements. Hence we can link it with Scotland's accepted bill for free of charge periodic protections for women. It's a constant fight for equality we're facing, between men and women, poor and rich people. The artist dedramatise the female body, like periods should also be.

The 1918 influenza pandemic is extremely similar to the COVID19 we're facing now: it infected about 500 million of people (one of a third of the population) in a very short amount of time. 
Edith, the woman, died of Spanish flu in the 6th month of her pregnancy, she did not have time to give birth fully. We can see the way family is represented by the painter during the pandemic: there's no hope, the father and mother are dying letting a poor child alone in this world. It's the exact same situation young people are facing right now. We are let by ourselves in a suffering world, we don't know what the future will be.

Using abstraction, the painter believes our inner thoughts can be released. She conveys that the "immense power of the fire leaves little room for us to do anything about it". Indeed the fire takes the whole space on the canvas; the colors are bright red, truly eye-catching. The dark mass at the bottom leaves us wondering what's in there; perhaps the burning nature being crushed by the flames. It's portraying the threatened nature's helplessness.

Jersey was a part of V.Hugo's 20-year long exiled journey. His exile lasted until the return of liberty and the reconstitution of the republic in 1870. Hugo wanted first of all to remember the French as a resistance fighter, loyal defenders of the republican ideals of 1848 and rejecting any compromise (amnestied in 1859, he refused to return to France). Here he takes place on the beach of Azette, as if he's surrounded by the sea, with his arms crossed and his gaze fixed on the horizon.
As for prince Harry and Megan Markle, they were ready to leave the royal family since some time. They wanted to become more independent and pursue a more normal life without all the royal pressure. They exiled themselves, in a way.

1940, the time of protests and segregation, an unending fight for racial equality, was again, under a different name but carrying the same values, at its climax during the Black Lives Matter movement of 2020. Blacks were lynched and severely reprimed at the time. If we take a look at the sign on the picture, we can see people weren't considered equal, they weren't even humans. Transports and facilities were segregated. In 2020 blacks are still willing for having proper rights.

Rosa Parks, famous icon of the civil rights movement, is sitting on a rock-like formation of which she seems almost a part, symbolizing her famous refusal to give up her bus seat to a white man in 1955. 
In the 25th of May, 2020, George Floyd, a Black American man got killed by 3 policemen strangling him to death. The affair was the starting point of the BLM movement, leading to multiple protests in more than 60 countries.
Hence we can link Rosa Parks and the tragic death of the man, who fought and were victims of inequality until the end.

2020's Tokyo session of the Olympic Games have been cancelled due to COVID19. This is the first major disruption to the Olympics since WWII, when the 1944 Summer Olympics were cancelled. The 1940 Summer Olympics, which were also to be held in Tokyo, were also cancelled.
On this poster we can observe 5 randomly arranged rings which have been drifted from their original place as the Olympic rings emplacement. Their trajectory express a future were each athlete competes by bringing their own unique talents, culminating in a sum greater than its parts, an harmony that is the Olympics. A devastating explosion in Beirut on 4 August 2020 killed at least 200 people and injured around 5,000 others, and made 300,000 people homeless. Also, since the fall of 2019, Lebanese demonstrators have demanded the departure of all leaders deemed corrupt and defend a vision of the world that is more social, feminist and far from the current religious system. This revolution called "Thawra", had freed the word and given new life to artists. 
The wall is blocking every possible access to the Parliament. During the exhibition We Wanted A Revolution: Black Radical Women 1965–85, women black artists are brought to the spotlight to highlight their want for feminine recognition.
