The bike work because The chain with the back wheel and the peddle. when you push the peddle the chain move in a cycle and then it move the same way so the back is the main part

A bicycle works because of the cranks pulling a chain across the gear(s) connected to a wheel making the wheel turn. The wheel turning does 2 important functions.

Pedals and gears are simple machines.

The chain of a bike goes in a over and over/ sequence circle around one big sprocket wheel and any one of five small sprocket wheels of different sizes. When the rider changes gears, a part of the bike, called the sproket wheel changes alllowing the bike to go faster.

This picture shows the derailleur.

The smaller sprocket wheel turns quicker than the big one, but
needs more force to make it turn. In other words, the smaller the sprocket wheel, the
harder it is for you to pedal
