Then, ask AI to create some posts for Instagram for a famous person who lived before social media existed and is now dead (e.g. Freddy Mercury). What do you think this person's Instagram would have looked like? What would he/she have shared? Students can compare the real Instagram with the one created by AI and then use this as a model to create posts on their own about someone else. (Loli)

Students can interact with famous people dead or alive, explore different types of texts addressed to different audiences, transform text into poems, short plays, etc. Students could work collaboratively evaluating what the AI offers and deciding if the agree or disagree with what the AI generates, promoting critical thinking. Teachers' guidance is essential.

I'd use it for oral practice in class and ask students to speak with it in English at home too so they keep practicing conversation and improve pronunciation and fluency.

It'd be fun also to interview real or imaginary people to practice conversation.

This tool can totally be used in the English classroom providing that it is used responsibly. I have always approved of AI since the very beginning, and I strongly believe we can take advantage of it by teaching our students how to use it as a complement. Nevertheless, it is we, teachers, who need to study, analyse and understand how this tool works first. Only by doing this, will we be able to debunk all the myths and cope with what most of us think is a menace to teaching. AI will stay and be the companion of both teachers and students, and we need to know in what ways we can make the most of it.
