She is/was incredible, Strong and loving, and some of the things he/she does are: she cared for our family, she was fair and etic, she cooked really well, she was a great teacher and an extraordinary Woman.

My hero is my father.

He was loving, caring, strong, thoughtful, kind and gentle. He always cared deeply about our family, doing everything he could to make sure everyone was well and happy. He was an extraordinary man, transmitting immense strength and confidence to everyone around him.

For me, he is the embodiment of love, he did everything to make my days happier and make me feel special, treating me like a real-life princess. His care was a shelter in times of fear, and his affection, expressed in small gestures, always included a sunflower when he returned home.

He was and always will be my shelter and my hero. Every day, he will remain in my heart, wherever I go, being my eternal and great love.

O dia dos mortos no México é uma celebração iniciada pelos povos meso-americanos, como os purépechas, os maias e os astecas na região da américa central e sul da américa do norte e que foi evoluindo com os povos hispánicos que se implantaram nesta localidade com a colonização. Por ser uma tradição milenar e mundialmente famosa, ele chegou a ganhar em 2003 pela UNESCO o título de patrimônio imaterial da humanidade.

Sua história é imensamente influenciada pela cultura e religião dos povos meso-americanos. A maneira como eles observavam a morte influenciou a transformação dessa tradição da maneira como nós a observamos nos dias de hoje. A tradição meso-americana - especialmente a asteca que é a cultura que mais influenciou o evento - observava a morte de maneiras diferentes da ocidental; eles dividiram o destino dos mortos em quatro: o paraíso de Tlalocan, o Omeyocán, o Mictlán e o Chichihuacuauhco. O Tlalocan é o local destinado às pessoas mortas por afogamento, por doenças, por raios ou por sacrifícios, ele é um local de abundância e descanso; o Omeyocan é destinado aos guerreiros que morreram em batalha, este é um local de alegria onde o sol sempre brilha, os mortos que vão para esse lugar renascem como uma ave de belas penas; o Mictlán é um local escuro e desanimador destinado a pessoas que morreram de morte comum, ele é impossível de se sair; o Chichihuacuauhco é desdianado à crianças que morreram antes de passar pela passagem da água, é um local cheio de árvores com leite escorrendo pelos seus galhos, as crianças que vão parar lá estão destinadas a renascer.

Essa cultura asteca foi mesclada com a cultura hispânica e a religião cristã e consequentemente foi criado, desta forma, a celebração que se conhece na atualidade. Com o tempo, esse evento mudou de data e ficou mais festivo. Atualmente, a festividade tem vários personagens, como a Mictecacíhuatl, a dama da morte e este evento é celebrado para homenagear os mortos que se foram, para isso, é feito um banquete com a comida preferida dos mortos e também é feito um memorial onde é colocado fotos e utensílios que os falecidos tinham apreço. Com isso, de acordo com a tradição, os falecidos que são homenageados voltam para visitar quem lhes homenageou. Ela é uma tradição encoberta de músicas, reuniões familiares e banquetes, tendo um tom alegre e descontraído, se tornando, por isso, um símbolo da tradição mexicana.
