This film is the most anticipated movie in Latvia in the 100 years since the end of the First World War and has been made in honor of the 10+ European countries, also celebrating the 100 years since the end of the First World War. It is the largest budget in the history of Baltic cinema trusted by the government.

This is an adaptation of Aleksandrs Grīns novel, the story was written in the trenches as the author of the novel was a Latvian rifleman in the First World War and the book was forbidden in the USSR.

The story is based on the bestseller "Soviet Milk" by Latvian writer Nora Ikstena.

Grey peas and bacon are popular in winter, especially as a Christmas dish.

For making bread soup, locals use stale rye bread that they soak in boiling water. Sugar and dried fruit like apples, plums, and raisins give the dessert its sweetness. You will often find rye bread soup with cream on top.

Old Town Riga is also an active night-time place on weekends with many bars, clubs, and cafes, where you can dance and have a great time.

Palace

The representation rooms in the eastern wing of the palace - the Gilt Hall, the White Hall, and the Great Gallery - are open to the public. The central block accommodates the Duke's suite with reception parlors and private rooms, and the easter block - a fully restored suite of Duchess's rooms.

Museum

The Rundale Palace Museum works as a center for research into Latvia's history, through creating collections, arranging exhibitions, and producing publications. The exhibition halls display applied art, fine art, and historical expositions; the palace hosts the Early Music Festival and recitals of classical music.

The Rundāle Palace Museum has joined the Association of the Royal Residences of Europe - an organization that brings together the most prominent palaces of Europe.

Park

The regular French-style park with its rose garden, the Green Theatre, ornamental parterres, and the fountain, are open to the public. In summer, the park becomes the venue for the Garden Festival.

Rose Garden

The bosquets feature an impressive, almost one-hectare large, rose garden that spreads on both sides of the parterres. The garden reflects the history of cultivating roses in Europe from the early 18th century till these days.

FADO

Fado is a Portuguese musical style.

It is usually sung by one person accompanied by a classical guitar and a Portuguese guitar.

This style was elevated to the category of Cultural and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Pastel de Nata is a popular portuguese sweets specialty, inspired by convents.

It was created by monks at the Jerónimos Monastery and has certified origin.

The original Recipe is called "Pastel de Belém", produced exclusively at the "Fábrica dos Pasteis de Belém", in Lisbon, and it's based on ingredients such as egg, milk, sugar, lemon and cinnamon.

It is Eça de Queirós' masterpiece, published in 1888, and one of the most important in all of Portuguese literature.

It is especially worthwhile for the language in which it is written and for the fine irony with which the author defines the characters and presents the situations. It's a realist (and naturalist) novel, where there is no shortage of fatalism, social analysis, adventures and catastrophe typical of a passionate plot.

The work deals with the history of a family (Maia) over three generations, then centres on the last generation and highlights the incestuous loves of Carlos da Maia and Maria Eduarda.

But the story is also a pretext for the author to criticise the decadent state of the country (politically and culturally) and Lisbon's nineteenth-century haute bourgeoisie, through which humour (sometimes fine, sometimes satirical) permeates the defeat and disillusionment of all the characters.

The bookstore is located in the center of Porto, Portugal. It has such incredible beauty and detail that it was recognized as one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, for its historical and artistic value.

The person in the text is experiencing deep emotions and pain that the other person does not fully understand. It portrays love as a force that diverts people from everyday tasks.

The novel is about schoolboys in the Józsefváros neighbourhood of Budapest and set in 1889. Two rival gangs of young boys lay claim to a vacant lot. The hostilities escalate yet never quite boil over into actual violence. The book poignantly portrays the struggles and resilience of youth amid the harsh realities of war.

Very popular in Hungary, it is considered as a classic book, and it is also one of the most famous Hungarian novels outside the country. It has been translated into many languages, and in several countries, it is a mandatory or recommended reading in schools.

Csinibaba is one of the biggest Hungarian audience hits of the nineties. 550,000 people watched it in cinemas and generated a real retro wave at the turn of the millennium. It was also well received by the critics, and took home the award for best film at the Hungarian Film Festival. The film’s popularity is unbroken to this day, and some of it’s sentences have become catchphrases.

One day, while hunting with their men, they spotted a magnificent white stag. The brothers chased it, but the stag was swift and elusive, leading them deeper into unknown lands. Eventually, they found themselves in a beautiful place, filled with game and fresh rivers.

A Hungarian legend recounts the tale of Emese. One night, Emese had a dream in which a Turul bird appeared to her. 1915. A Bolshevik Martiņš Venta (Voldemar Zandberg), an officer of one of the battalions of Latvian riflemen, returns to Latvia from Siberian exile. The hero establishes a connection with the Bolshevik organization and becomes involved in underground work.

Sye Venty Laimon, who escaped from German-occupied Ventspils, finds himself in his father's company. Preoccupied with underground work, Martin does not notice that his son falls under the influence of the ardent nationalist Lieutenant Colonel Ezeriņš.

February Revolution... Latvian riflemen fraternize with German soldiers. Kerensky and the counter-revolutionary generals open a front towards Riga and Petrograd to strangle the emerging revolution. Martiņš Venta explains the situation to the soldiers, and the riflemen block the path of the Kaiser's advancing troops.

After being wounded, Martiņš finds himself in Petrograd (Saint-Petersburg). In October 1917 in Smolny palace he meets Sverdlov, the russian revolutionary, familiar to him from the Yenisei exile. Sverdlov informs Martiņš that Lenin and the Military Revolutionary Committee are relying on Latvian riflemen. At a rally, the riflemen reaffirm their loyalty to the revolution. They are joined by Colonel Rudzītis and later by Laimonis Venta, who realizes the hypocrisy and meanness of Lieutenant Colonel Ezeriņš.

According to the story, long ago, two mermaid sisters swam from the depths of the Baltic Sea to explore new waters. One sister headed towards the Danish straits, where she became the famous mermaid of Copenhagen. The other swam up the Vistula River and reached what is now Warsaw. She found the area so beautiful that she decided to stay near the riverbanks.

Local fishermen soon noticed that someone was playing tricks on them, tangling their nets and freeing the fish. However, when they saw the mermaid, they were enchanted by her beauty and her melodious voice, so they didn’t try to harm her. They became fond of her and protected her.

One day, a wealthy and greedy merchant saw the mermaid and, struck by her beauty, decided to capture her and make money by displaying her in a circus. He tricked her, capturing her in a net, and imprisoned her in a wooden shed. The fishermen heard the mermaid's cries for help and rescued her, breaking the chains that held her. In gratitude for their kindness, the mermaid promised to protect Warsaw forever.

Since then, the mermaid, armed with a sword and shield, has become the symbol and protector of the city of Warsaw. Her image can be found in the city’s coat of arms, statues, and monuments, symbolizing the strength and resilience of the city and its people.

One of the most famous Portuguese love stories, the tragic tale of King Pedro I and Inês de Castro is legendary. Inês was the lover of Pedro, who was the heir to the Portuguese throne. Despite their love, the relationship was forbidden because Inês was a commoner and a lady-in-waiting. Pedro's father, King Afonso IV, ordered her assassination in 1355. After Pedro became king, he sought revenge and declared that Inês was his rightful queen. It's said that he had her body exhumed and crowned, forcing the nobles to kiss her hand in tribute.

Both Pedro and Inês are buried in the Monastery of Alcobaça, in beautifully ornate tombs that face each other. The inscriptions on their tombs are thought to say, "Until the end of the world," symbolizing that they would be reunited in the afterlife. Some info about myself: Hi guys! I'm 21 years old and I'm a Clinical Psychology student. My favourite things in this world include listening to music, painting, reading, watching movies/TV shows, hanging out with people I love and, of course, have new and exciting experiences such as this one!

What did I learn mostly during the exchange? I got even more convinced of the fact that, in order to make a change in the society we live in, we need to have an active role in that. If we want the world to be a better place, socially, locally, economically, we can and should do something about it. We have the power in our hands, and being young is a plus because we can make a change from early on! Besides that, I also learned about different countries and cultures, understood different perspectives about certain topics, tried new foods, saw beautiful places and created friendships that I know will last a lifetime.

This Erasmus+ experience was so fun. I loved being in Cagliari, such a beautiful city, and making new friends, especially polish and hungarian ones. I am also very thankful to the organisators and my turkish friends (and Nanna) for showing me more opportunities that are offered for young people within Europe and outside. I'll bring with home many good memories including karaoke night, eating lunch in La Cantina, learing new languages and cultures, hiking on the beach and many late night walks.

I'm Peter I'm 18 years old, I go to high school, and I've developed a love for traveling and meeting new people. I love cars, motorsport. During my Erasmus in Sardinia, I improved my English, learned about the local culture, and became more independent. The people were friendly, and the island was beautiful. It was a great experience for both learning and personal growth. It was my first Erasmus but not the last. Being part of the Erasmus project in Cagliari was a great experience. I learnt about European citizenship and why it's important to be an active citizen. Hello guys :) So I'm an 18 year old student aiming to become a fashion designer or an editor as I enjoy both various of fashion choices and editing both videos and pictures. I'm also a quite introverted person but to get confidence, fake it till you make it.

This is my first experience at Erasmus, as I didn’t want to go on Erasmus through university and this week for me had some ups and downs, especially on the first days. I see myself as an introvert-extrovert so I need some time to connect with people if I’m on a different environment from mine but, after all, it was a very pleasant experience and I appreciate it very much.

I consider these kind of iniciatives very important, it can create a huge impact on someone’s mind and way of seeing things in life.

I am really glad for this opportunity, it was my best-organised project so far. I really enjoy gorgeous Calgiari with its beautiful seaside, clear sea and tasty food. People here were amazing. I'm really happy that I was able to be in the best bar in Calgiari. Tomorrow I will bring home the stories about one of the best experiences from this year and also one of the best experiences ever since I started participating in Erasmus projects, two years ago. This project was a perfect mix of learning, exploring and having fun. I will keep this experience close to my heart and I will a 100 percent come back to the city of Cagliari and its wonderful people. Just that weird random arts kid who loves people :)

During this exchange I learned that my name is actually Giorgio, that there’s beautiful Lithuanian mermaids at the beach, to be careful with the wolves at night, that it’s ok to eat lasagna every day, that the exorcism might be the only option sometimes, that there’s people who shout “Mamamia” while sleeping, that there’s cool Croatian grandmas, that I need to take my drivers license in Lithuania, that people might find you weird if you speak the “P” language, and, above all, that we’re all different, weird and unique and that’s the best part.

I’ll take back to Portugal all the food, laughs, memories and each of you with me.

Hello, my name is Gabi. Im from Croatia and I end up here by accident but very grateful for that. I learned much about politics but also the chances EU provide for its citizens, especially for jobs opportunity and maybe even making my own projects in future. I will bring home as much souvenirs as new experinces and friendships. I loved how the exchange was organized and i was enjoying in every moment of it. Its my fourth project in general and first that I feel like I really learned something i will need in future and so glad for that. The experience at all was awesome, the food, the acomodation, people, touristic guidanc, free time, everything. Thanks to facilitators for organizing the kind of project that will surely make impact on my future plans.❤️ Also thanks to every single one participant that have made this project feel amazing. It was a great experience to learn more about other cultures and countries in Europe. I loved being with these people from all over Europe.

My main goal for this trip, besides exploring the topics, of course, was to use all the clothes I packed (brought 2 pairs of pants and a sweater for the 30 degree sweltering hot sun). I think I belong with italians because they don't consider being late as a huge sign of disrespect like latvians do (it's noot that deep).

The project helped me explore European youth goals and general human rights through informal education. It also helped develop the skills to make entertaining content that talks about serious issues. I also learned that my latvian ass can't take the heat and amount of pasta this country deals with.

I will definitely bring home a huge amount of knowledge about different cultures, the topics of the projects and even something about the political situations in some countries. This experience was invaluable, thank you all.💗

Hi, my name is Katja and I am from Croatia. I study psychology in Zagreb. I am very passionate person with big dreams and ambitions.

During this youth exchange I learned that I really want to explore my skills and ambitions in youth work. This experience taught me that sometimes the best things can happen unexpectedly and you should let them. I learnd that I can be independent. More so, I saw that I have good qualities and enjoy working in team as well as learning. I am very pleased to know more about the opportunities that EU is giving us and I hope i will participate in more events like this.

I will bring home many memories and many ideas and desires to particapate more in youth work. Even more, I met someamazing people and made friends that I hope I will see again.

I want to give special thanks to amazing TDM team. They made this youth exchange the best experience and taught me a lot.
