I know that this makes him dedicated because he was willing to stand up for what he believed in while being so young in such a large group. Nelson Mandela also demonstrates that he is dedicated. In the text it states that he made a speech challenging the world leaders to not "look the other way" in regards to poverty. This shows that he is dedicated because he spoke out to some of the richest leaders in the world asking them to acknowledge the poverty problem. He is encouraging leaders to confront the issue instead of run away from it.
