One of the products I selected for inclusion is a three-part lesson segment designed for my kindergarten library class, which meet on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. This unit focused on the role of the illustrator in picture books and was crafted to introduce young learners to the idea that illustrators are storytellers through art. Each lesson, built upon the last, starting with identifying the illustrator's name and role, followed by exploring how illustrations contribute to a story's mood and meaning, and culminating in a creative activity where students became illustrators.

I am proud to include my March Book Madness program, which combines reading engagement with a school-wide interactive display. The bulletin board, located in the main hallway outside the library, generates excitement and visibility for the event as students pass by and track the progress of their favorite books. For classes I see regularly during library, we read the competing picture books together and students vote in class after thoughtful discussion. For students I do not see during this time, I created a digital version of the program and posted it in the library's Google Classroom, allowing students to watch or listen to the read-alouds and submit their votes via a Google Form.

Below you will see a few items from my Read Across America week. I took the lead in organizing the weeklong celebration, creating both a printed flyer for families that outlined each day's spirit theme and a digital flyer for teachers featuring curated book recommendations. Each recommended title was linked to an online read-aloud, making it easy for teachers to integrate themed reading into their daily routines. I also coordinated daily school-wide reading activities such as flashlight reading, buddy reading across grade levels, and hallway partner reading. This reflects my ability to design and implement large-scale literacy events that engage students, staff, and families.

I have included the Summer Reading Challenge I created for my students, which uses a bingo board format as a fun and flexible reading incentive. Each square on the board features a different reading activity or challenge - such as reading under a tree, reading to a family member, or visiting the library. Students are encouraged to color in a square once they complete it, and when they achieve five in a row, they return the board to me by September 5th for a small reward.

These examples reflect the creativity, engagement, and learning that take place in the library space and highlight student responses to lessons such as illustrating a story, participating in book-related activities, or completing reflection sheets.
