- Multiple authors and books? Possibility of error in typing authors' names, redundant data.

Relationship could be a one-to-many, for most fiction, or it could be a many-to-many relationship if there are multiple authors for a book and multiple books written by many authors.

Author is the Parent, and the books are the Child.

1. If you read entire series by the same author (like Allie does all the time - see title of post), you would be recording the author information over and over again. This would lead to a lot of redundant data.

2.The author exists on their own and the book is something that they created. They have both kinds of relationship. An author can write many books and those books could have just one author. BUT ALSO, authors could write many books together and therefore those books would have more than one author. That would be a many to many relationship.

3.The author is the parent and the book is the child.

- Repeated author, date/time, publisher and series. These types of data can be redundant and can cause major problems in a database.

- It would be One to Many because the author could have created a series for a book.

#1. Redundancy, and there would be too much data in one table therefore easier to make a mistake.

Assuming we're talking about an author and a book, the author would be the parent because they wrote the book and the book would be the child.
