I think watching these events happen make sure everything a lot more real than just hearing about it. It is hard to watch and makes me realize how harsh times were back then with the racism and inequality. It was very eye opening to see how the police officer just shot the three guys in the beginning. Through out the movie you can see a lot of instances where race was a huge issue back then. I was shocked at how violent it really got. They burned down there churches, threw people out of cars, and verbally abused them.
