Earlier in her career, Ms. Poltrack was a member of Teach for America, serving as an English language arts teacher at schools in St. Paul, Minnesota. Later, she taught the subject at Higher Ground Secondary Academy and West Side Charter School, also in St. Paul.

Complementing her professional pursuits, Anna Poltrack founded the Ketchup Creative Writing Club, a post-collegiate network for writers. In the spring of 2018, she participated in the Creative Honors Colloquium, where she wrote a section of a science fiction novel and an essay for her final project. She has also been a featured speaker at the Junior Parents Weekend at Notre Dame.

In addition, Ms. Poltrack is a filmmaker who showcased her animated short "Schattenvolk" at the Notre Dame Film Festival. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, drawing, and reading graphic novels.
