I have always felt that the news picks and chooses what they talk about and that really showed over this quarantine. Several people passed away due to police brutality and no one knows because the news chose not to speak on it. That is not fair to the families or the communities because it makes it seem like the person they lost did not matter. Lately, it seems like we learn more about what is going on in the world from social media instead of these multiple news outlets. This goes to show that if the news actually tried a bit harder, people wouldn't doubt what they say. During the riots, so many people that were only trying to fight for what was right got harassed by police and that's isn't alright. To me, it is something sad the best way I can describe how they look like is like zombies because they are just there waiting for something to happen. Instead of helping them, we try to get rid of them and push them away like they do not exist but that is not the case. I watched a video on how a homeless lady on skid row had to live while on her period and she said that she often have to choose between hygiene care and food to eat. She said in order to fully stretch her money she had to buy a box of pads because they were cheaper and rip them to make tampons because they worked better. Redlining is a form of segregation. Although it is believed that American segregation ended in 1964 it still prevails today. While many cultures prefer and feel comfortable to be surrounded by their own culture which is great segregation often decides how resources are divided amongst communities. We see black and brown parents often wanting to put their children outside their own to ensure their education is up to par. For example, magnet and bussing systems allow students to go to schools, not near their homes for a better education. But imagine if all schools were equally funded and all students had the same opportunities. Then students of color would not have to wake up earlier to go to a school 30-60 minutes away. They would have the ability to go to their home school knowing they are getting a good education. We also see segregation in high-earning workplaces. Segregation is an important issue to me because it is not as broad as just racism which we know exists it is more specific and tangible; although it is a facet of racism. The data is clear about where people live, how the systems work there, and how where funding goes. Yet it is often not thought about and even celebrated that segregation has ended when indeed it has not actually it is just illegal to intentionally do so. Which does not mean it is not happening. And since I hear it often, I'm starting to believe it. Because what CPS is supposed to do...it's in the name...they are supposed to protect children. I've read many articles on children still remaining in abusive households even after having meetings with CPS. Do we know how those children are doing at this very moment...no because their cases were most likely closed. Instead, CPS is taking away children from caring homes, just because there was one complaint. Like, how there was a lady in the hospital, and CPS came because the staff in the hospital thought she was neglecting her child. All she was trying to do was take her newborn child home. And instead of her doing harm to the child, the police officers that were at the hospital did more harm than the mother that was supposedly harming her child. Many brave immigrant women have come forward about the illegal hysterectomies that surgeons have done on them. A whistleblower by the name of  Ms Wooten came forward as well about a year ago and expressed her concerns about the, "high number of hysterectomies performed on Spanish-speaking women at the centre." This is a major issue that needs more attention.

People like him need to be stopped. No one should feel that they are entitled to your body and if possible any sexual violence should be prevented. It is truly an evil and traumatizing thing to do to someone that can cause the victims a lot of physical and psychological damage. These people who commit these crimes need to be put to justice. Sexual assault is the ultimate act of dehumanization and disrespect of the life of another human being. I commend organizations like RAINN for reaching out and trying to help the victims along with trying to prevent and educate others on the situation. In a world where you could eliminate the possibilities of false accusations I would say that crimes of this nature deserve the highest punishment. Gun violence takes a huge part in the United States whether it is homicide , mass shootings , suicides , police brutality etc. It is estimated that everyday more than 100 people die from gun violence. Gun violence all start with the gun ownership rates. Families and friends suffer severe heartache , pain and depression from the loss of a love one due to gun violence. Those who are survivors of gun violence may suffer from severe PTSD as well. There has been a widespread exposure to guns which leads them to fall into the hands of the wrong people. That is how unjust and unlawful shootings come about. Even those who are registered to protect us and their city such as police officers abuse their power often times. Several minorities have been wrongfully shot as innocent bystanders or wrongfully accused of a crime. Gun violence causes a range of health issues in all communities whether it is mental or physical. It is estimated that gun violence costs the economy at least $229 billion dollars a year.
