The fear of being alone keeps Daisy faithful to Tom

In our society today, Kim Kardashian leads a very similar life to that of Daisy Buchanan from The Great Gatsby. To begin, the most striking similarity between the two women is that they both married for money. Daisy married Tom, a proffessional football star, because he came from an extremely wealthy family. Kim married Kris Humphries, who was known for being a rich sports star. Both couples had elaborate weddings, and neither marriage truly lasted. Kim and Kris had a very public split after a mere 72 days of married life, and although Daisy and Tom remained married, their marriage is basically void due to the fact that Tom has been openly cheating on Daisy. Kim and Dasiy also both tried to hide their failed marriage from others. Daisy attempted to ignore Tom's scandal when Nick and Jordan were over even though it is very obvious, while Kim tried to make her failed marriage seem like it wasn't so bad when it blew up in the tabloids. Lastly, both girls have attention-seeking personalities. Kim always tries to make her way into the news (she made a sex tape just to get famous)! Although Daisy doesn't quite go to such lengths, she manages to draw men in when she is talking, so that they will be enticed to listen to every word she says.
